Videos available to help with searches

November 9, 2016 Leave a comment

Database searching has recently gained a new look! The databases are the same (Medline, Cinahl, BNI, AMED, Embase, Psychinfo, HMIC, Health Business Elite) but there are some differences in exactly how the search works.

NICE have produced some handy videos to help you

New HDAS Videos from NICE

There are also some written guides which you can download from the  useful links section of the Library pages on the Trust Intranet

Or from our website

And of course we’re here to help if you would just like a refresher course on how to get the best out of the resources!

This also includes assessment modules. Again this can be linked to from the Trust intranet

The Visible Body. This is an anatomy resource which allows you to look at different levels and from all angles. Unfortunately technical issues are still stopping us using this on Trust computers! Important News

February 23, 2015 Leave a comment

Do you have any saved searches on the healthcare databases – particularly on Medline or Psychinfo?

The provider of the databases will be changing on April 1st. Your saved searches or alerts will not carry across. So it is important that you take action NOW to make sure that you are still able to use your searches or alerts if they are still important for you. Please contact library staff for help in doing this.
